Diploma in Depth Coaching
Programme details for 2025-2026
This new nine-month programme has been designed for graduates of our CPLC and HCP programmes who want to take their learning and development as depth coaches further.
We will also consider applications from other accredited coaches (e.g. EMCC Senior Practitioner, ICF PCC, AC PEC or APECS Master Executive Coach), who have relevant previous training and experience.
The first programme takes place in-person in London, starting October 2025. The programme consists of two parts which can be attended separately; however, both are required for an award of the Diploma in Depth Coaching.
Structure of the Programme
Part One: Essential Psychology for Depth Coaches
4 x two-day weekend seminars, supported by small group reflection sessions, webinars and online materials.
Part One has been developed and will be run in partnership with George Warren and The Edge of Coaching.
- The essential concepts of prepersonal psychology for depth coaches supporting leaders in a VUCA world
- Personal and humanistic psychology – overview of classical and new approaches and application of these in coaching
- Transpersonal psychology and the superconscious, working with nature and creative expression
- Emergent psychology for engaging with the collective psyche and the intersection with the individual psyche.
Part Two: Going to Depth with Psychosynthesis Psychology
5 x two-day weekend seminars, supported by small group reflection sessions, webinars and online materials
- The Self and personality – sacred wound and the inner child; disidentification, subpersonalities and the I-Self
- The Will – psychological functions and the will; aspects, qualities, levels and stages of the Act of will
- The Soul’s journey – the journey of the soul, the nature of suffering, neurotic and existential guilt and shame
- Spiritual emergence, awakening and crisis – crises of meaning and duality, the four stages of awakening, psychological mountain climbing and transpersonal inspiration
- Synthesis and polarity – interplay of polarity and opposites; inner and outer, individual and collective; concrete and abstract mind; the process of synthesis at different levels; synthesis for leadership in a VUCA world.
Context and overview
Part One provides a breadth perspective of essential psychology for the depth coach. Interactive seminars are mixed with experiential exercises and short coaching practice sessions, alongside reflection on your own self-development, coaching space and professional practice. We evolve our inquiry as a dialogue between an experienced coach, psychosynthesis psychologist and leadership client within the context of our VUCA world; all explored within the container of Roberto Assagioli’s model of the psyche, weaving in core concepts of psychosynthesis (which are further elaborated in Part Two).
Part Two takes you on a newly designed personal and professional journey into psychosynthesis psychology, over five weekend workshops. The aim is to both enable participants to experience Assagioli’s core concepts of psychosynthesis and to bring this psychospiritual psychology into relationship with the world we engage with today as practitioners, coaches and leaders. Each weekend workshop is facilitated by a different experienced psychosynthesis trainer alongside Aubyn Howard, the creator of the course.
